GCI Security, Inc. is excited to announce the relocation of the company's main headquarters. After more than ten years in Botanical Heights, all operations including GCI's corporate offices and dispatch center are now located in south city at One Campbell Plaza.
"As GCI Security continues to grow, we needed a work space that would fit the needs of our expanding operation," said GCI Security President, Gary Cole. "I'm very pleased with what we've accomplished over the last 25 years, but I'm eager to build on GCI's foundation as we extend our reach in the Midwest security market."
While GCI Security has remained a trusted institution in St. Louis since 1991, One Campbell Plaza has a storied history of its own.
The site opened in 1872 as the St. Louis County Poorhouse, before the land was acquired by the City of St. Louis in 1876. In 1910, the building would become the City Infirmary, serving as a hospital for those with chronic illnesses.
Renamed the Chronic Hospital in 1952, the building would eventually close after being deemed structurally inadequate in 1968.
The Campbell Design Group, known today as CDG Engineers, spearheaded the charming renovation of the Plaza which was completed in the mid-1990's.
"We're proud to call One Campbell Plaza home," added Cole.
